There was a noticeable hesitation in the way I was received, likely shaped by assumptions formed from previous encounters. While the service improved once I was seated and had ordered, first impressions matter, and they set the tone. I tip based on how I’m welcomed and treated, not out of habit. In this case, I chose not to. Thailand’s tourism industry has clearly been impacted by repeated negative behaviour from certain visitor groups, but allowing those experiences to harden into blanket judgments only creates unfair and diminished experiences for others who don’t deserve it.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by the female to sit wherever we'd like. We chose to dine outside. Menu was not explain, however a QR code was shown to scan to see the menu items. We ordered the beef liver, Uovo E Tartufo, and Calamari Con Bagna Cauda to start. Followed by the Pasta Mista Con Pesce Di Scoglio and Wagyu Rib-eye. We were offered to have all dished at once or have them course out — we chose the course option. All dishes were served in the timely manner. All dishes were plated well and, upon sampling offered great flavour and highlighted quality ingredients. It was noted during the meal that we were not checked up on to ensure satisfaction of the dishes. We finished the meal with the tiramisu dessert.
